Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Tausco was the perfect getaway I had been craving for a long time. It felt nostalgic and peaceful, nestled in the valley of Madikeri, right beside a coffee plantation, with a beautiful view of the surrounding hills. I went there with my family, and it instantly reminded us of the happy days we spent with our grandparents. They had a similar old house, and being here brought back those warm, comforting memories. Most popular spots like Raja’s Seat, the Tomb, the Fort, the Skywalk, and nearby plantations are just 5–8 km away. If you’re interested in Mangalpatti or trekking at Tadiandamol, it’s about 24 km from here but the drive itself is absolutely breathtaking. I also loved their menu. I’m someone who hates long, overwhelming menus because I always get confused about what to order. Tausco keeps it simple with a limited menu exactly what I needed. The food is traditional Kodava cuisine, slow-cooked over a wood fire, and every dish was comforting and delicious. And I can’t forget the hosts, Gagan and Naveen. They were always just a text away or around the camp, constantly on their feet extremely hospitable and friendly. It never felt like we had booked a homestay; it felt more like visiting friends and having the time of our lives. I’m already missing the place. While we were there, they were working on new Swiss tents to cater to couples and bikers. They also have campsites and a small block for budget travellers. My recommendation: wake up early in the morning when the mist still lingers. Step out either behind the house where you can hear the birds, or to the side with the mountain view. Just sit there and soak in the beauty.

Negative: They can offer alot more then they have. They are working on few nice things which were in Progress while we were there. My Suggestion would be to get some Animals, Have a system for Coffee Plantation that they have like a walk-in self tour for travellers, bathtubs in the new tents would be a nice touch for Couples.
